Withdrawal stuck: pending, reversed, account blocked – what the terms say

Values per casino compared.

How we collect the data ▸

A win shows in the cashier, the request has been sent, and then nothing happens. Or something unexpected happens: the amount moves back into the playing balance, the account is suddenly blocked, support only answers in English, or your own bank wants to know where the money came from. With online casino withdrawals, these are the moments when players from Austria search for answers most often, with queries such as „online casino verzögert auszahlung“ (casino delaying a payout), „casino auszahlung nicht erhalten was tun“ (payout not received, what now) or „casino withdrawal pending“.

Behind these queries are five different situations, each solved in its own way: processing that takes longer than stated, a reversal by the player or by the casino, a blocked or closed account, support that is hard to reach, and a query from the house bank. The sections below match each situation to the rules in the terms of the five compared casinos, namely HellSpin, Verde Casino, Nomini, Izzi Casino and Starda Casino. Where the terms say nothing, the text says „no information“, and where the terms and third-party sources differ, both values are given side by side.

Pending longer than stated

„Pending“, „in progress“ or „ausstehend“ at first only means that the request sits with the casino and has not yet been approved. It only becomes a problem once the deadline the operator itself states has passed. That is why every case starts with the same step: look up the upper limit for processing in the terms and compare it with the time of the request. How processing and the travel time of the payment method add up to a total is explained in detail in the article on withdrawal time per method and per casino.

The ranges of the five casinos are far apart. According to AskGamblers, HellSpin processes within 0-72 hours. Nomini has its finance department work within 3 working days according to its terms, and only from Monday to Friday. AskGamblers states 0–5 days. Verde Casino tiers approval by amount according to its terms, from 5 min.–12 hrs. for small sums up to an individual check from €30,000. AskGamblers, by contrast, states 0–96 hrs pending. For Izzi Casino and Starda Casino the third-party sources disagree: for Izzi, AskGamblers states 0–72 hours pending and LCB 24 hours; for Starda, AskGamblers states 0–48 hours and LCB 24 hours. Anyone calculating with these two operators is best served by taking the higher figure.

The most common cause of seemingly endless processing is not a technical fault but an open identity check. At Verde Casino, according to its terms, the approval period only starts after KYC is complete. Anyone who leaves verification before a withdrawal until the first big win extends the wait exactly when it hurts most.

If the deadline really has passed, a factual enquiry helps more than several messages on the same day. Useful details are the date and time of the request, the amount, the chosen method and a record of which documents were uploaded when. Support replies should be saved as a screenshot or email, so that it is clear later which promise was made when. If instead of approval there is a refusal citing bonus rules, duplicate accounts or missing documents, a different chapter begins: the most common reasons for a withdrawal declined are usually listed explicitly in the terms and can be checked there one by one.

The day of the week matters too. At Nomini the finance department works Mon–Fri 6–17 GMT, and there is no processing at the weekend; a request made on Friday evening is looked at on Monday at the earliest. HellSpin, according to AskGamblers, also pays out at weekends. Anyone checking the status after a public holiday in Austria should therefore count in working days first before assuming a delay.

III

Reversal: withdrawal pulled back

A reversal can come from two sides, and the consequences are completely different. In the first case the player withdraws the request themselves while it is still pending. In English-language cashiers this function is often called „Reverse Withdrawal“, and it regularly appears as a separate topic in the top results on withdrawals on google.at. The amount then lands back in the playing balance, and that is exactly the risk: money that was already on its way is suddenly available for stakes again.

Queries such as „casino auszahlung rückgängig machen“ (undo a casino payout) or „casino auszahlung rückgängig gemacht“ (payout was undone) show that both directions occur: some players want to pull a withdrawal back on purpose, others find they did so by accident. Anyone who actually wants to see the amount in their own account leaves an open request alone and does not keep playing with the returned money. A reversed amount has to be requested again afterwards, and the processing deadline starts from scratch.

The second case is a reversal by the casino. An open withdrawal is then cancelled, and there is almost always a reason for it that is written in the terms. Nomini names it explicitly: in case of suspected fraud or a breach of the terms, winnings become invalid, open withdrawals are cancelled and the real-money balance can be confiscated. Verde Casino voids winnings for duplicate or third-party accounts, fraud or bonus abuse. Anyone facing such a reversal should ask in writing for the specific clause the casino relies on and compare their own playing history with it. The rules of this operator on time, limits and checks are summarised on the page about Verde Casino withdrawals, including the tiers by amount.

A special case hides behind the query „online casino auszahlung auf anderes konto“ (payout to a different account). Which destination accounts a casino accepts is set out in the payment terms of its T&Cs. Which routes are generally open to players from Austria is shown in the overview of withdrawal methods, split into bank, card, e-wallet and crypto.

This particularly affects players who deposited by prepaid voucher. A deposit with Paysafecard works without bank details. At HellSpin and Verde Casino, according to AskGamblers, Paysafecard is listed for deposits only, Starda Casino also lists it for withdrawals, and Izzi Casino does not list it. How withdrawals stand and which alternatives remain is described in the article on withdrawing to Paysafecard, before a request gets stuck on the wrong method.

IV

Account blocked or closed

To players, an account block often feels like the end of their balance. Whether that is true depends entirely on what the terms of the casino in question provide for this case, and the five operators differ clearly here. Two questions decide: who closed the account, the player or the casino? And was there still a remaining balance or an open withdrawal at that moment?

Nomini is worded most clearly. Closure is only possible with no remaining balance and no open withdrawals; anyone who closes with a balance loses it. The consequence for players is simple: withdraw first, wait for the credit, only then close.

Verde Casino handles the case just as strictly. After deactivation there are no more withdrawals, and after closure there is no further credit or payout either. Anyone at Verde who wants to take a break or end the account should therefore withdraw the full balance before requesting deactivation.

Starda Casino, according to LCB's analysis of its terms, reserves the right to close accounts at its own discretion without prior notice, and then refunds the account balance. Closure by the casino is therefore not automatically linked to losing the balance there.

HellSpin gives no information in its terms on a remaining balance at account closure. According to Casino.Guru's analysis of the terms, winnings may be withheld for low-risk play, multiple use of bonuses and depositing only for bonus offers. For Izzi Casino there is no information on account closure and withdrawals.

If the block is based on an alleged bonus breach, it is worth looking at the specific bonus rule: maximum bet, excluded games, wagering requirement. Many disputes revolve around exactly these rules rather than the block itself. The typical patterns that stop an approval are bundled in the terms' clauses on refusals. Anyone who wants to request a block themselves because of problem gambling should withdraw first and block afterwards, because at Nomini and Verde the order decides what happens to the remaining balance.

V

Reaching support: channels and German

When a withdrawal is stuck, support is the first point of contact, and here there is a difference that is often overlooked in Austria: a German website does not automatically mean German-speaking customer service. At three of the five casinos the interface is in German, but according to Casino.Guru the chat is only staffed in English or Russian.

HellSpin offers live chat 24/7, email to [email protected] and [email protected], and a contact form; there is no phone. The website is in German, but live chat and customer service, according to Casino.Guru, run in English only. Verde Casino can be reached via live chat (24/7) and email to [email protected]. There is a German website under /de/ including German terms, and the live chat also runs in German.

Nomini has live chat 24/7, email to [email protected] and, for disputes, the address [email protected]. The interface under nomini.com/at/ is in German, as are the terms, and support answers in German according to Casino.Guru. Izzi Casino offers live chat and email, 24/7, at [email protected]. The website is in German, but customer service and live chat, according to casino.guru, are English and Russian only.

Starda Casino lists live chat 24/7 and email to [email protected]. On phone support the sources differ: according to the operator there is a callback or phone support, according to LCB there is no direct phone support. The website is in German under /de/, but live chat and customer service, according to Casino.Guru, run in English and Russian only.

In practice this means: with a withdrawal problem, use the chat first to get quick information on the status, then ask the same question by email so that a written trail exists. Where a separate address for disputes exists, as at HellSpin and Nomini, escalation belongs there as soon as the chat brings no solution. Anyone who does not want to write in English is better off choosing an operator with German support when opening an account, which according to the available information means Verde Casino or Nomini.

VI

When the bank asks questions

One problem that only starts after a successful withdrawal is a query from your own bank. Players in Austrian forums describe this situation again and again. One writes about a „Mittelherkunftsnachweis“ (proof of the source of funds) for winnings from a crypto casino, a five-figure amount. Another reports that Erste Bank asked about the source of around 25k in casino payouts received within four months. A third warns that Raiffeisen and Volksbank are „extremely annoying“ when it comes to crypto.

The background is the banks' duty of care. § 6 (1) no. 1 FM-GwG requires establishing and verifying identity on the basis of documents, and as part of these duties banks ask about the origin of conspicuous incoming payments. Players then mostly wonder which documents are enough: is it sufficient to present the casino's records of winnings and withdrawals? A forum user answers, in substance, that the bank does not just look at the casino part but at „the whole chain from your first EUR deposit to the withdrawal“. Anyone collecting evidence therefore starts with the first deposit from their own account and ends with the arrival of the winnings.

Then comes the question of the licence. One player asks in the forum whether the mere fact that the winnings were made at an unlicensed crypto casino is reason enough for the bank. Under § 3 GSpG, gambling is reserved to the federal state, and § 52 (1) GSpG also addresses credit institutions that knowingly forward player payments to providers of prohibited games. Payment blocking for payments to providers without an Austrian licence is planned according to the government bill RV 594 d.B., with a scheduled date of 31.12.2026, but it is not in force. What the monopoly, licences and the plan mean for withdrawals is set out in detail in the overview of the legal situation in Austria.

The recurring advice from the forums is simple: a larger withdrawal „should have been discussed beforehand with your bank or adviser“. Anyone expecting a high amount can explain its origin in advance and keep ready the casino's account statements, their own deposit history and, for crypto, the exchange transactions. Some players also fear a report to the tax office; on the tax treatment of a player's winnings in Austria, the legal sources evaluated here give no information.

Some players arrive at a completely different topic through these questions. Anyone who has lost large sums in the past at providers without an Austrian licence reads in the same forums about lawsuits in which players pursue reclaiming losses, based on the case law of the OGH. That is a separate procedure and has only the operator in common with a stuck withdrawal. The separation matters: a claim is no reason to keep gambling away a reversed balance.

Short answers

Frequently asked questions about withdrawal problems

The online casino is delaying my withdrawal – when is that a problem?

Only once the deadline the casino itself states in its terms has passed. At HellSpin, according to AskGamblers, that is 0-72 hours of processing, at Nomini 3 working days according to its terms, without weekends. At Verde Casino, according to its terms, the approval period only starts after KYC is complete.

Casino withdrawal not received – what now?

First check the status in the cashier: is the request still pending, has it been reversed, or has it already been approved? Once approved, the rest depends on the travel time of the payment method. If the deadline has passed, contact support with the date, amount and method and save the reply in writing.

Can I reverse a withdrawal?

Where a casino offers this function, a request that is still pending can be pulled back, and the amount lands back in the playing balance. The withdrawal then has to be requested again, and the processing deadline starts from scratch.

The casino reversed my withdrawal – what now?

Ask in writing for the specific clause in the terms the casino relies on. At Nomini, open withdrawals are cancelled in case of suspected fraud or a breach of the terms; at Verde Casino, winnings are void for duplicate or third-party accounts, fraud or bonus abuse.

What happens to my balance if the account is closed?

Each casino sets this itself. At Nomini a remaining balance is lost at closure, at Verde Casino there are no more withdrawals after deactivation, and Starda, according to LCB, refunds the balance when the casino closes the account. For HellSpin and Izzi there is no information.

Are the casino's records enough when the bank asks about the source of funds?

According to reports from Austrian forums, the bank often checks the whole chain, from the first deposit in euros to the withdrawal. The casino's statements are one part of it; your own deposit history and, for crypto, the exchange transactions belong to it as well.
